Commissioning of new photovoltaic plant
Step by step for more renewable energy
NTS continues to invest in sustainability. Today our third and so far largest PV plant with about 300 kW peak went online and was synchronized with the power grid of BKW for the first time. In the future, the installation will supply electricity for about 80 households.
Part of the energy is consumed by the farmer on whose roofs we were allowed to erect this installation. Other energy users are integrated in a ZEV (association for self-consumption).
The plant covers an area of 1500m2 distributed on four roofs. By means of three central inverters, the solar power is fed into the grid.

RPKI as additional protection.
Unfortunately, IP addresses (so-called prefixes) are repeatedly leaked due to misconfiguration or intentionally hijacked.
Mostly it is a matter of faulty router/filter configuration, but also of targeted attacks with the purpose of disrupting the availability of a service or the attempt to redirect traffic in order to intercept it. In order to counteract this problem, our prefixes as well as those of our customers and the valid AS path have been protected by RIPE with a digital signature for some time now.
Furthermore, NTS no longer accepts prefixes that have an invalid signature. The corresponding internal infrastructure was implemented redundantly and fault-tolerant. The more providers implement this system consistently, the more secure the Internet becomes with regard to the above-mentioned errors or attempted misuse when it comes to global BGP routing.
